Go Smell the Aliens.

Readers can go to the Berkeley site and download a program which will use your computer’s free time to download sections of radio recorded from outerspace and sift through it for a possible message from creatures from another planet.
Some say aliens are already here, like this man in a news video on an Alien/Government cover up. We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for the mention!, with billions and billions of stars in our galaxy, and billions and billions of galaxys in the universe, and with the ever increasing acceptance of the theory of multi-verses, you gotta figure there is intelligent life out there.

I guess the main issue is the sheer distances and timescales involved. We are of course also assuming they will send EM waves.
However, in an infinite universe it would be foolish to consider we are the only sentient life.
Does the software take into account red shift/blue shift Doppler effects as well? I can’t get on the site I’m afraid.
I used to have SETI software on my PC about 8 years ago but never reloaded when I upgraded. I think they also have this for play stations as well.
The next issue of course, is even if we find a signal communication would most likely be spread over generations. This would be due to the fact that if the source is say 1000 light years away then it takes 1000 years for their signal to reach us and 1000 years for ours to reach them. We’re hardly going to have a good old chin wag, but its a start.

There is DEFINITELY life out there.
I was watching a documentary on this the other night. This kid in the states found an alien who fully understood the concept of telecommunications right the way up to accepting telephony as a suitable system for making contact with beings from his planet. He also did this trick where his finger lit up. A trick I have only ever seen my old Uncle Cyril perform in ‘a way’ with me when he used to give me a secret special cuddle.
Also this alien was comfortable with BMX travel and could force the bike into the air normally against a silhouetted backdrop of the moon.
It was quite a compelling documentary and in the end the alien escaped in a spaceship when the boy he had befriended managed against all the odds to spring the being from a medical tent and away from the FBI/ CIA.
But then again they are a bit rubbish anyway. Look at the errors they made in Waco.
