Due a detox?

May 28th, 2007 by Jim

The end of our flower smelling travels and the beginning of many more was topped off at the Spa Samui, Thailand where we fasted, flushed and cured ourselves of ills. A detox that Dr Dre would have been proud of.

From yeast infections to bloodshot eyes. Out those toxins came and we highly recommend it! GO! Smoke the flowers….

The question is - would you detox and pay for the ‘ pleasure’?

Hmmmm. Far be it to admit my symptoms but this post appeals to me…that spa samui looks worth a go. Not convinced by the hose pipe and bucket method though.

An extract from an article

”Colonic irrigation, which also can be expensive, has considerable potential for harm. The process can be very uncomfortable, since the presence of the tube can induce severe cramps and pain. If the equipment is not adequately sterilized between treatments, disease germs from one person’s large intestine can be transmitted to others. Several outbreaks of serious infections have been reported, including one in which contaminated equipment caused amebiasis in 36 people, 6 of whom died following bowel perforation. Cases of heart failure (from excessive fluid absorption into the bloodstream) and electrolyte imbalance have also been reported. Yet no license or training is required to operate a colonic-irrigation device. In 1985, a California judge ruled that colonic irrigation is an invasive medical procedure that may not be performed by chiropractors and the California Health Department’s Infectious Disease Branch stated: “The practice of colonic irrigation by chiropractors, physical therapists, or physicians should cease. Colonic irrigation can do no good, only harm.” The National Council Against Health Fraud agrees.

My arse is for exit only, nothing will make me change that view point.
My body is regularly cleansed and washed through with oodles of Stella or Qingdao.
Most of this is fad and has no medical grounds. Get off the bandwagon Mr & Mrs Gullible.
You washed you arse out once and now we are to believe its the holy grail?

A quick query from a cynic.

If you get rid of 10kg of ‘recal matter’ are you telling us that after a session doing this you lose a stone and a half in weight?

If so wy aren’t the morbidly obese given this.

My own thoughts on this.

Whatver floats your boat and its your right to do what you will however there is no scientific evidence it is either safe, beneficial or necessary.

‘And for that reason…………… I’m out’.
