GO! Check out the Friends and Friend’s Friends Picnic!
July 4th, 2008 by arvindArvind here back after a break from the online world.
It seems that summer has finally arrived in London, just in time for my annual picnic.
So if you are in London it will be great to see you! If you are not in London, here is my guide to organise your own friends and friend’s friends picnic.
For me this is a great way of celebrating friendships and keeping in touch with close friends & acquaintances. It is also a great way of meeting people and making new friends. At my annual picnic, I usually meet people who are 3 or 4 degrees removed from me.
The world is definitely getting smaller and perhaps we are now even more closely interconnected than implied by the principle of six degrees of separation.
How do you keep in touch with your friends?
What will you be doing this weekend to celebrate your friendships?
And which one person in the world would you most want to invite to your picnic?

oh Arvind that looks like bonza barbie……
its great to just hang around with your mates…
ours usually involve large quantity of snags and beer, a cricket bat and a cd player…
Keeping in touch mostly by email. Not, doing anything special this weekend, but spending three wonderful days with my husband.

I do my best to keep in touch with my friends…but at times there is just not enough room or time in the day to get to them all. If I had a picnic of course Jim and Em would HAVE to be invited

my god look at the black guy nearest the camera
its taking both his hands to control that massive thing swinging about between his legs. his missus plays with it too. you want to hear the noises she can make on that thing.
Urban - that is nothing!
You should see the size of his missus and her thingy

Allright Arvind,
How’s the book going?
This weekend I will be reunited with my wife as we’ve finally got a visa from the Nazi’s in the British Embassy in Beijing so I got her a flight on Saturday morning.
As for keeping in touch it depends on the friend. UP, Jim, Bo and a few others can go months without contact then we’re off on the sauce having a blast. A few freinds I have in Essex need more maintenance, depends on the folk in question.
Personally I’m looking forward to Bo’s weddiing to catch up with many old friends.
Pity your picnic isn’t in 3 weeks or so or me & the Wife would have joined.
Hi Gareth
The book is almost complete, just adding the final touches.
Enjoy reuniting with your wife over the weekend - you don’t even have to fantasise about those saucy skirts any more
If you are in London in 3 weeks time, we could meet anyway as I am around over the weekend of 26th / 27th. I can have a picnic just for you both!

Hi Arvind - long time no hear.
What a fab idea - a friend picnic! I’d invite Kylie for the music, Jools Holland for later on, Jamie Oliver to do the cooking and Desperate Dawg (the cartoon figure) to clean up our streets (after we finish).
Bit pricey hiring regents park????

Welcome back Arvind….
Please tell us you insisted on a group hug at the event?
What a great idea Arvind! We usually do a catch-up and picnics in the park around Christmas time here in Melbourne. Hope it all went well for you.
Hi Ange,
It poured down all day and yet we had around 50 people turn up! A fun time was had by all
