Go! Smell Canada Day!

July 1st, 2008 by taylorblue

Today is Canada Day (in Canada). Today is usually a day when everyone sits around and has a bbq and drinks all day.

I think my favorite part of Canada is it’s Great Lakes. Growing up I always lived within a half an hour from the beach. It is so hot and humid in Ontario that if you didn’t live by a beach it would be a horrible summer! In high school we used to even have a Beach Day on every Friday in June when we would all skip school and go to the beach for the day. But most teachers would try to put tests on Friday so sometimes we would have to stay at school and think about everyone having fun at the beach.

But now that I live in the west there is something I get to enjoy every day….the mountains. I can go outside and see them everyday. They are pretty amazing…but they aren’t the Great Lakes for sure.

What is a favorite part of your country?

Hi TaylorBlue,

HAPPY CANADA day and what’s for dinner :-)

We loved our time at the ranch in Calgary and found the Canadian folk very laid back - we hope to return in 2008 and hope we get to meet you.

Can we be greedy and answer for 2 countries:

Fave part of the UK - In general terms the seasons (all in oneday) cask ale, curry, fresh air and catching up with British comedy on TV and with friends - the contrast and variety in accents (it varies every 24 miles on average) from place to place.

Fave part of Dubai - The beach at sunrise, Friday brunches and the audacity of the place with the vision and the fact that so many cultures exist in one place as it gets on the global map.

Dubai sounds amazing…I would love to go there someday. And for sure next time you are in Canada we will have to get together! I have never heard of Calgary people laid back…but I’ll take that compliment… :)

Happy Canada Day!!! I really haven’t seen much of the country. However, I love the mountains, rivers, beaches…we have so much natural beauty here it is amazing. And in California, it seems we have a little of everything with great weather to go with it…just get rid of the people and the cars and the noise and you can see and hear it.

Happy Canada Day!

My favourite part of the UK is actually the road my mum and dad live on, I love the feeling I get when I drive down that road.

Or Waterloo Bridge in London.

My favourite part of the UK is Euston Steam and Sauna- its great to see women of so many different cultures all working hard to make sure you have a ‘happy ending’ to your day.

They put the hours in too but will always get you another 250cl bottle of ‘berre d’alsace’ and order you a cab home. lovely stuff.

I’ve never been to Canada - but its one of the parts of America I would like to go to. How big is it compared to New York?
