Police chase UFO over Cardiff
A police helicopter crew gave chase to a UFO after it almost collided with their aircraft near a military base.
The pilot was forced to bank sharply to avoid being hit by the mystery aircraft as the helicopter was returning to the Ministry of Defence base of St Athan, near Cardiff.
The three crew, who described the UFO as ‘flying saucer-shaped’, then gave chase, getting as far as the North Devon coast before they ran low on fuel, it was reported.
The police aircraft was hovering at 500ft and waiting clearance to land on June 7, when those onboard spotted the other craft hurtling towards them from below.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “We can confirm the Air Support Unit sighted an unusual aircraft. This was reported to the relevant authorities for their investigation.”
It was reported that the aircraft closed in at great speed, aiming straight for the helicopter which swerved sharply.
“They are convinced it was a UFO. It sounds far-fetched, but they know what they saw.”
The helicopter crew are said to have crossed the Bristol channel in pursuit of the UFO, but lost sight of it and had to turn back due to a fuel shortage.
The sighting comes weeks after the most comprehensive Government files on UFO activity are opened to the public for the first time today and they disclose that even air traffic controllers and police officers have seen mysterious craft in the skies over Britain.
The sightings range from incredible tales of little green men visiting the Wirral to corroborated accounts from policemen and pilots of Unidentified Flying Objects hovering above towns and cities.
All were recorded on official forms, held by air bases and police stations, and compiled by the Ministry of Defence between 1978 and 2002.

So many people are quick to call those who believe in ET’s as nutters and it is fair to say that there are some, however there is a growing number of people who have stated and reported close encounters. I do not mean little green men invading their homes, but Unidentified Flying objects both in our air and in space. Astronauts, Pilots, Military Pilots, Police, Politicians and the list continues.
Whether these are actual vehicles from other worlds or secret Military tests remains to be seen, but with the UK Government open the files they have held for many years and the vast number and unexplained incidents it is fair to say that there is something going on.
After all many witnesses are very credible people. Some you may have even voted for.
It didn’t look ‘flying saucer shaped’ from the video to me, it was more cigarette box shaped. The film looked suspiciously like that oft broadcast footage of the crop-circle-forming-orb, which has since been proven to be a hoax.
There are plenty of UFO sightings for sure, but the key is in the first word, ‘unidentified’. The term UFO should not be confused with ‘evidence of beings from another world’ which I am afraid it often is.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it highly likely there is more life out there than that to be found on earth. But I cannot accept the first grade playground evidence and gullibility of the easily influenced masses as proof of other worldly beings visiting our planet.

it is amazing though that in the years leading up to the stealth bomber being unveiled stealth bomber shaped UFO’s were regularly seen. when the bluebird?? could be wrong- the fastest plane I think was being used on covert spying lots of bluebird shaped UFO’s appeared. almost like the two were connected.
No one can argue against logic with unsubstantiated superstition UP, as your comments prove.
But what is a genuine fact is that there are millions of people prepared to subscribe to this nonsense. Now that is something I can’t explain……..
my theory on it is that people have to have something they can’t explain to give their lives a fantastical evidence. its like when you watched a magician as a kid. it was MAGIC. only it wasn’t. it was illusion.

thing is whenever I watched magic I knew it was a fiddle and was interested in finding out how it was done. I didn’t feel cheated. I felt entertained. however people are expecting us to believe in this ‘magic’ without actually proving it to us. at least with the sawing the woman in half you are tricked but actually see something. with the superstition of religion, aliens, crop circles, reiki etc etc we are asked to believe and subscribe and in some cases build a life on the say so of a person who usually has a vested interest or personal benefit from our believing.

My problem with this is that they were near an RAF airbase.

In thier basic form ‘flying saucers’ are the governments way of ‘keeping us aware’ that other forms of life exist but in a ridiculously basic form - Rothwell, ET and hovering bin lids? Intelligent life forms are way beyond this….
As per the crop circles other life forms work on different dimensions that few can tap into - light being one form of other beings….’they’ say 11 other dimenions now exist - we only choose to see - 3 or 4 - science dislikes things that can’t be categorically proven but times are changing as quantum opens up to spirituality as our universal consicousness heightens, assuming we don’t wipe ourselves out, of course.
This footage could be an example of this or just plain old trickery - tis just the start!

It is difficult to tell if the video is real or not, I went through heaps of clips to try and see if there was any hint.. but couldnt.. so decided to put it up.
I’ve seen to many weird things in my life to say these things do not exist, if they do I hope they are friendly, if not then I hope we never find out, because it would be a very very lonely place in space if we truly were the only ones in it….
Part of what bothers me though with the ‘there is nothing out there’ brigade is even when put your cards on the table and show legitimate images, ancient text and images, eye witness accounts and the rest they still say prove it… things which are a hoax are normally discovered, but the things which can not be explained by the experts and or science are then dismissed as imaginary nonsense….
I am not saying every story reported about little green men is a valid and accurate account, but some are and when you have many many people witnessing the same thing and no one can explain it …. then there is something to consider
to say it is just hysteria, imaginings or fanciful nonsense is to demean the very thing which humans have strived for, that being inspriation, the unknown, adventure and most important Knowledge…after all if we followed the sceptic brigades view, the world would style be flat, penicillan would still be fungus and we still be hunting lions in the jungles if there was any left…. we need to look outwards and see the potential of things in order to move forward others we stagnate and go the way of the dinosaur.
If there was nothing out there then we would never have had a space program, satelites, any space exporation, we would never have sent man to the moon or be looking at going to Mars… if there is other species out there who are as intelligent as us or more so why shouldnt we consider that they to would have thought along the same lines as us and set out to explore strange new worlds…

I’m always skeptical about these things. As amazing as it can look, I always think that there are government aircraft being tested or someother phenomena having to do with how light works and reflects especially at night. Although, I don’t discount that there maybe other life forms, but usually I doubt that in these cases this is actually what has happened even after seeing the footage.

I must say that most of you have very valid points….
the secret aircraft is a possiblity…
but something to think about even with the base.. if it was a secret test they would have known the helicopter was there, so why continue and why over the city.. that just seems silly… I do think many of the sightings can be put into the aircraft testing box..
but what about those which arent.. and there is many… OHara Airport December 2006 seen by hundreds a dish shaped craft hovered above the Airfield of the Airport in Chicago.. was report on the news but only after the image and footage was withheld for several weeks…
yes I did state ‘U’ means Undentfied because that is what is.. a flying machine which is not known..
but I do think that deep down in our psychi there is something which tells most of us this is right.. life on other worlds that is..
perhaps as Jim says it is part of our multidimesional world, perhaps it is visitors from other planets/galaxy’s etc … worm hole travel after all if we can think of it why couldnt any intelligent advance species?
but the fact that far more people on the planet believe in Space men than do not…. has to account for something… mention of ET’s has been told and written about since we first communicated as rational people…. even the Aboriginees down here have stories of ET’S and paintings of them.. and since they are the oldest indigenious culture on the globe they might know a thing or two…
I like to believe we are not alone out here on the edge of our Galazy and there are many other civilisations out there it allows me to feel connect to Universe in some strange way and apart of something bigger than just the Human race…

But AC, all this assumes the film is genuine. In my experience the police are not a trustworty bunch and film hoaxers, who come from all walks of life, certainly are not.
I think it highly likely that there is life elsewhere in the universe, but crop circles, the Loch Ness Monster, UFOs of the alien kind, give us a break!

In terms of the government, if it is classified and restricted then they are not allowed to tell anyone. My husband is an engineer and I have no idea what he is working on and the same with my mother’s husband he works in a vault behind two sets of secured doorways like in Get Smart. They both had to go through complete background checks. They even interviewed neighbors. There is a lot of stuff that the government does not tell us due to need to keep military advancements classified. All I know is that what they worked on goes into space.

Not a believer sorry,the police forces in Britain are strapped for cash,i wonder how much the tabloids paid for this ‘unseen footage’? A fake or some sort of MOD experiment,it was about to land at an MOD airport in Cardiff,i believe the governments are years ahead where technology is concerned and something got caught on film that shouldn’t of…hence the uncomplete footage,enough fuel to follow for only 30 miles…my a**e!
