GO! Smell the crop circles!

June 22nd, 2008 by Jim

It’s not just flowers that grow in fields folks - crops do as well with some interesting patterns emerging as the most complex ‘mind boggling’ crop circle ever to be seen in Britain was discovered in a barley filed in Wiltshire last week.

Most complex crop circle ever discovered in British fields
APEX PICTURES
The circle is a coded representation of pi to the 10th significant figure The formation, measuring 150ft in diameter, is apparently a coded image representing the first 10 digits, 3.141592654, of pi and has been described by astrophysicists as “mind-boggling” and  ”an astounding development - a seminal event.”
Crop circles have been shunned as post pub antics by bored British farmers or students but maybe more people are looking in now thanks to technology. Crop circle enthusiasts are now using Google Earth to track down the most interesting patterns in fields across Britain. The internet giant’s satellite mapping service has made it easier than ever for fans across the world to locate and study the phenomena, which previously had to be photographed from light aircraft.

Check out top 10 crop circles picked up on google earth right here with more to follow on this youtube clip:

YouTube Preview Image

Could it be that inteligent beings are communicating with us through this medium or is it a student or a bored farmers hoax? Are crop circles created by humans, higher beings or energy fields?

Please look at the top 10 and the clip before posting your answer!

Do share any crop circle stories, youtube clips and you point of view right here. Cheers!

I go back and forth on this all the time between man-made and other. I’m always skeptical about these things and really don’t have enough information. I did see a myth busters episode that was inconclusive, but did show how it could be man-made. My problem is when the end up being scientific. It is hard to imagine that being man-made over night. So, my answer, “I don’t know…need more information.”

man made clearly

all this nonsense about a ‘higher being’ ‘aliens’ or ‘energy fields’ is just tha nonsense. Its yet another example of mans inability to accept that this is it- life- and there is nothing else. Hoever humans need something mystical to attach meaning to- be it religion and nonsensical, irrational belief in a deity, the easter bunny, aliens, chakra’s etc etc etc.

shame really

Agreed - most easily explained by the arrogance of mankind where his consciousness & evolved cognisance drives him to question the simplicity of only a material existence; it’s a paradox that human consciousness has evolved to such a degree that the simple empirical & rational observation of our existence isn’t sufficient, so the resultant void needs to be filled with ‘faux’ spirituality, unexplained external forces, higher beings and/or even aliens.

Stealing a line from Tony Wilson’s character in ‘24 hour party people’, ‘ … it’s nothing more than a lot of new age hokum masquerading as spirituality.’

Amazed it’s still even put out there as a possibility worth discussing, i thought it’d long since been put to bed & shown to be man-made creations. Artistically/creatively debatable but the origins seem beyond such debate.

Recent crop circles hae been deemed too large and too nitricate to be made by humans!

any proof? real-time footage?

99% have been shown to be man-made, with crop circle enthusiasts often coming forward to accept plaudits for their extraordinary creations. But provide authenticated proof & I’m willing to re-think my stance.

Some are man made no doubting that… but they have been going on for many many years.. i read somewhere the first was reported around 300 years ago…
The complexity of many of these and the time frame they are made makes me wonder how if they were created by someone person how they did it.. and so many in so many different places…
If it is ET making these then I doubt it is for communication with humans they are after … there are far easier ways to this look at seti… so communication with others of their kind would be the only other assumption.. so hoax or ET I dont know..
however the latest one with pi.. is a very curious one the reasoning for it even more perplexing(the word of the week).
If it is ET I just wish they would hurry up and stop in for visit properly and quit messing around all this waiting for first contact is rather annoying ….

It amazes me that so many are content with a “simple empirical & rational observation of our existence.” Being rational does not explain the obvious spiritual side to life, the doubtless contectivity between human beings, intuition, the many lives changed by the powers of positive thinking, and of course such things as complex crop circles which appear in short periods of time. One should be cautious of rational lies and consider the bigger life and the big question, “Why are we here.” To ignore such things as chacras, meridians, is like claiming that air doesn’t exisit because it can’t be seen. oh dear me Jim. Lets take this piece by piece shall we

It amazes me that so many are content with a “simple empirical & rational observation of our existence.”

CONTENT WITH TRUTH- DAMN RIGHT I AM. IT AMAZES ME THAT GROWN ADULTS LIKE YOURSELF BELIEVE IN COMPLETELY UNRPOVEN NONSENSE

Being rational does not explain the obvious spiritual side to life,

BECAUSE ‘SPIRITUAL BELIEF’ IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN RATIONAL. ITS FOUNDED ON MANS ARROGANCE AND SUPERSTIITION AND AN INABILITY OT FACE AND ACCEPT DEATH.

the doubtless contectivity between human beings, intuition,

‘DOUBTLESS’- YOU HAVE NO REAL EVIDENCE ANY OF THIS EXISTS. IF YOU DID YOU’D PROVE IT YOU CAN’T AS ITS A FIGMENT OF A SCARED PERSONS IMAGINATION

the many lives changed by the powers of positive thinking,

HOW ABOUT PEOPLE WHO PRACTICE POSITIVE THOUGHT BUT HAVE HORRIBLE LIVES??

and of course such things as complex crop circles which appear in short periods of time.

ITS A SIMPLE METHOD WELL DOCUMENTED

should be cautious of rational lies and consider the bigger life and the big question,

RATIONAL LIES??? HAHAHA PLEASE TELL ME SOME OF THESE RATIONAL LIES

“Why are we here.” To ignore such things as chacras, meridians, is like claiming that air doesn’t exisit because it can’t be seen.

AIR CAN BE PROVEN TO EXIST SCIENTIFICALLY- CHAKRAS ARE NONSENSE

Wake up and smell the flowers, life is more than you think!

I WILL PUT MONEY THAT YOU IN SOME WAY MAKE MONEY OR DEFINE YOURSELF BY NEW AGE NONSENSE. SO YOU ARE ESSENTIALLY A CON-MAN, A FRAUD, A SHYSTER AND A CHARLATAN. I’M RIGHT AREN’T I? THAT OR YOU ARE GOING THROUGH A MID LIFE CRISIS OF SOME SORT. I’M RIGHT AREN’T I?

Urban, I suggest you do some research before jumping to wild conclusions and yelling at those you disagree with. You are entitled to your opinions, but let’s be factual, or rational as you would say. Chacras are energy centres in the human body - research it for yourself - or are you saying your body has no energy! Read “The Field” by Lynn McTaggart, a scientific study of the para-normal, then come back and let’s discuss.
Look within, what do you see?
Best regards,
Jim

But I have seen of plenty wild conclusions from those desperate and, or, gullible enough to believe any old wives tale, and very little (if indeed any) logic.

As Mr P constantly requests for any of these superstitious stories (god included), yet, strangely, no-one ever supplies, where is the evidence?

FAO Jim ‘Howlin Mad’ Murdoch

I wasn’t shouting- merely highlighting in caps so it would make easy reading.

‘chakra’s are energy centres in the body’

erm says who??? seriously. its based purely on theory not fact

here is something I found regarding chakras- I’ll dissect it in caps as I go

The traditional chakra system was introduced to Western culture from Hindu studies, along with Yoga. According to these studies, (WHAT STUDIES??) the rate of spiritual and intuitive growth (TOTALLY UNPROVEN AND UNPROVABLE) is based on awareness, and opening of, the chakras. There are reportedly over 300 major and minor chakras related to the human body ~ at each vertebrae, each major joint (shoulder, hip, etc.), above the head, below the feet, and so on. (SO IN SHORT EVERYWHERE IN YOUR BODY HAS A CHAKRA- YET SCIENCE CAN FIND NO EVIDENCE OF EVEN ONE)

The chakra system consists of patterns of electromagnetic energy centered around major nerve plexi and endocrine glands. (OOOOOOH A BIT OF PSEUDO-SCIENCE) They act as points of intersection between various planes of a person’s bioenergy field (physical, mental, etc.) and serve as receptors, assimilators and transmitters of “Life Force Energy” via meridians (energy pathways).(MORE PSYCHO-BABBLE NO PROOF) These meridians are utilized during acupuncture and acupressure.(BOTH PROVEN TO ONLY HAVE ANY WORTH AS A PLACEBO TREATMENT) Each chakra functions as a unique channel for the vibrational energy frequencies entering one’s personal bioenergy field.(HAHAHA THIS IS LIKE A COPY OF THE EAGLE)

Seven major chakras (energy centers) are located in our etheric body at points related, physically, along the spine to the to top of the head. In Sanskrit, “chakra” translates to mean a spinning “wheel of light” and is thought to be linked to sound, light and color. In order for our bodies to function optimally, energy must flow freely through each balanced chakra. (NONSENSE- AGAIN NO EVIDENCE OF THIS AT ALL)

An imbalance or block in a chakra may cause physical dysfunction in the part of the body related to it. (SO PHYSICAL ILLNESS OR DISABILITY IS RELATED TO CHAKRA’S IS IT- HOW ABOUT IF SOMEONE IS BORN DISABLED- WILL ALIGNING THEIR CHAKRAS SORT IT OUT??)
In turn, this may result in emotional or mental issues related to that chakra. (OK SO ITS NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT JUST PHYSICAL BUT ALSO MENTAL ISSUES TOO- AGAIN COMPLETELY UNPROVEN BUT I SUPPOSE IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE BOMBASTIC CLAIMS GO THE WHOLE HOG- SOMEONE MIGHT BELIEVE AND SOMEONE MIGHT PAY FOR THE PRIVELEGE) For example, stagnant energy or “chi” in the fourth chakra, (STAGNANT ENERGY- ENERGY IS NEVER STAGNANT ITS BASIC SCIENCE) the heart center, may result in anxiety, inability to express or receive love, hardening of the arteries or heart attack. (HAHAHAHA SO ANY HEALTH PROBLEM AT ALL EVER IS RELATED TO UNPROVEN NONSENSE)

Sorry Jim and I don’t mean to sound rude but its unproven middle aged superstition- thats all. I had a brief look at your site and as suspected you earn your living (or try to) peddling this nonsense- as is your right- but its also my right to challenge nonsense when I read it.

As I said before show me some solid proof with a decent sample size from individuals undertaking a double blind study into the effectiveness of this. you can’t . it doesn’t exist.

one can only assume that as no evidence is given to back up the claims and thus make them mainstream and of practical use to all the reason for this is no evidence exists because its nonsense.

she earns her living from the supernatural so its fair to say she is unlikely to be the most objective on it is she? I’ll delve further but its like asking a vicar to write a book on whether god exists or not- he’s already ‘on the team’ isn’t he?

she’s also a journalist not a recognised scientist

so I would question her concept of ‘proof’

she is however undoubtedlyt a very good salesperson and for the ability to extracate the gullibles money from them in return to faux secrets she should be applauded

A valid argument. Well, as a jouranlist, she has researched scientific studies of the past few decades. One could I suppose debunk those as nonscence if it weren’t for the people involved and the methods used. And I haven’t found any arguments denouncing her research. Another source of research into a “spiritual” side of life is David Hawkins. Now, you may denounce him for the same reasons, but he has used a unique tool to test truth from falsehood, the muscletest of kinesiology, which I am familiar with from my wife’s studies and practice. All I can say is that the body does give answers which would suggest the connectivity proposed on McTaggart’s book The Field.

I don’t expect a change of opinions here. Like me, you will remain a sceptic until personal experience proves otherwise.
Jim.

Oh the pyramids! The pyramids! Another cornerstone of gullible nonsense…..

How is it the same design is repeated in different parts of the world that are so far apart? The Answer is simple. Ancient space aliens came to earth and built them for us, or at least provided the design……

Nonsense.

Pyramids are merely an example of man’s desire to build tall buildings before they possessed the engineering ability or tools / heavy plant required to do it as per modern times.

The pyramid is a simple design whereby to build upwards and maintain stabilty you simply build the next level smaller than the one before.

The only result you can end up with is a pyramid. A very similar desire for the leaders of ancient people to those of the modern day, “See how important we are! We’ve got the biggest building in the world!”

Now how did the ancient space aliens move those ruddy great blocks of stone from Wales to Salisbury Plain to build Stone Henge?

Oh wait! No! That must be nonsense as well! And you know what? It is too.

Well I watched your film, but am uncertain as to your objectives for posting it, was it to reinforce the supernatural theories or to rubbish them.

For me it served to rubbish them.

The supernatural theorists’ evidence was shot through with inaccuracies, Statements such as the mathematics available at the time required to build such structures had not been developed is untrue. Much of modern mathematics has actually been reinvented. Complex mathematics was developed in India thousands of years before the Ancient Egyptians began work on their structures and there is no reason why they should not have been employed by the Egyptians.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking these ancient civilizations were unsophisticated, they were not. For example the Ancient Egyptians measured time with the Solar Calandar, accurate enough to add the quarter day every year, so developing the leap year concept, and all this nearly 5,000 years before Pope Gregory reinvented it in 1582.

However, blokey in red tie with boomy voice clearly has sensationalist agenda and doubtless the supernatural theorists will lap this up.

Oh gosh Jim! Stupid me! Yes I forgot all that other convincing tosh the ‘experts’ on your vid were claiming……..

For a civilization that used compex mathematics, were able to devise an accurate solar calendar (which incidentaly is a truly major feat and something that the Greeks and Romans did not - and Europe only got on board with in the 16th century) oh I’m sure the concept on North, South, East and West must have far to complex an equation….

I think you have finally hit on the ‘facts’ you were looking for, clearly this is evidence of the pyramids being built by supernatural influences, mankind has always been too stupid understand anything more complex than superstition.

But wait doesn’t that last word contradict the whole acceptance speech? Your darned right it does!

Here is another major hole in your video ‘evidence’:

It is stated that the structures are so flawlessly built (don’t disagree with this) that settlement levels are inexplicably low, after all modern buildings (plenty of examples given from non desert places) suffer major settlement by comparison to these huge ancient structures, and the compared buildings are made with the very latest technology!

This argument is fatally flawed. The fact is that, believe it or not, compounded sand is the most solid of foundations, it doesn’t go anywhere, it has nowhere to move. Most Western civilization buildings are constructed on beds of soil, clay, and rock, often on mixes of all 3, (and quite often even marsh land) and it is here on these less solid grounds that settlement occurs.

And even more interestingly, the bigger the building, the heavier the structure, the more compounded the sand it is built on becomes. Settlement is, and should be, negligible.

Why do you think all those Middle Eastern countries are able to throw up their massive tower blocks so quickly and easily? Money and techonology help of course, but they also have the advantage of the base foundation being sand.
