Go! Back to a moment

June 20th, 2008 by Lib

I’m feeling generous again.

If I gave you a moment in time to go back to, what/where would it be?

I’m not necessarily talking about regrets, although you have that option to change something if you want to, I’m talking more about a moment that you want to re-live.

A holiday? A promotion? Graduation?

Or simply a fleeting moment with a stranger.

Please tell……

My wedding day, but especially the exchanging of the vows. Followed closely by my second choice which is our honeymoon in Hawaii 5 nights in Maui at the Four Seasons followed by 5 nights in Kuaui at the Princeville hotel. Thank you Grandpa.

I have no regrets because all the decisions I made make me who I am today. A happily married woman with a good life just trying to work through Major Depression, Borderline Personality and Post-traumatic stress disorder. That’s all. It is weird because I have all this mental illness, but my life is good. I guess that makes it easier to cope with what I need to do for healing.

Lib Says:

How very sincere and honest Clinically and I can’t believe you put ‘thats all’!

Thats enough!

I’m rather ignorant when it comes to severe depression so I would love to find out more.

Really, go visit my site and I have an post I wrote about it. The link for the post is http://clinicallyclueless.blogspot.com/2008/05/major-depressive-disorderit-is-painful.html. I’d be happy to help you understand more. In part, that is what my blog is about. On 6/30/08, I begin a short series, two posts, on Bipolar Disorder.

I don’t know if I’m repeating myself, but I don’t see my reply to you anywhere. That’s all was meant to be sarcastic, but I didn’t indicate it and apparently my telepathic power are not working again…neither are yours because you couldn’t read my mind.

If you are really interested in knowing more about Major Depression I wrote a post about it. This is the link http://clinicallyclueless.blogspot.com/2008/05/major-depressive-disorderit-is-painful.html. My blog is about my struggles with mental illness and education. Even though, I am not personally effected by bipolar disorder on 6/30/08, I am starting a two post mini series on it.

Thanks for the reply.

Okay, maybe this is the third comment, but I still can’t find it. That’s all was meant to be sarcastic, but I did not indicate it. If you really want to know more go to my post on it, http://clinicallyclueless.blogspot.com/2008/05/major-depressive-disorderit-is-painful.html. My blog is about my struggles and educating on mental health. Even though, I am not personally effected, I am doing a two day bipolar series beginning 6/30/08.

Okay I lied fifth try to leave a reply to you. My telepathic powers were not working as you did not sense my sarcastic tone in “thats all.” If you really want to know more about Major Depression go to my blog and I have an article on it. Just click the Major Depression link in the cloud and it should be about the third one. My blog is about my struggles with mental illness, therapy and trying to educate people. I’m doing a two part series on bipolar disorder on 6/30/08 if you are interested.

Actually, the best thing was just relaxing and decompressing with each other and no one else to attend to. The first night we slept until 10 am which is really late…it was wonderful, the SLEEP. We had a big wedding of 250 people.

I’d also like to go back to the wedding because that was the happiest, I’ve ever seen my Grandpa who has since passed away. I miss him so much.

Lib, I would like to go back to when the attorney for the Kansas City Royals called me on the phone after I had fallen in a pothole located in their parking lot and badly twisted my ankle. Instead of answering “no” when he asked if I was prepared to press charges, I would say a resounding, “YES!!!!” What an ignorant woman I was……

ABSOLUTELY! That is definitely a moment to go back to.

In fact, you’ve inspired me. I’m off out to find pavement cracks.

I dont know which moment to go too…
there are so many… some I could change but by changing them I would then change aspects of my life which I truly love like my kids… others which would would have flow on effect like not going aways and staying to look after my mother.. she might not have died and gotten the dr earlier… this would have totally changed every part of my life… if I was merely watching my life like a tv program then I would see my Mum and all the love ones who have past away just one more time… but if I could change anything then very little would I go back to in my life except I might have done things earlier and some slightly differently ..
but it is nice to think back to those things regardless….. memories of good times and some regrets are good to remember….
Thanks Lib

Lib Says:

It is good to remember.

There is only one thing in my life that I would have changed really, all the rest I would gladly go back and revisit.

I’m with you on this one Aussie…there are so many wonderful moments I would love to revisit if I could…there are also many moments I wish I could relive…lol.
If I had to choose one I would love to go back to the first time I caught eyes across a crowded parking lot with the man I am now with……Out of the ten or so people in the parking lot that night….we were the only two people to see a star shooting across the night sky…..both of gasping with the awe of the moment turning and saying in unison…”Did you just see that”
Who knew that a month later I would be falling madly in love with him……

I’d go back to myself in high school and tell myself not to neglect my health so much. Those first seeds of neglect really led to some problems in my first years of college. I just would have soooo liked not to go through that stuff and so totally know it was my own fault.

The benefit of hindsight eh?

I would go back and actually listen to my mum when she said ‘Carry in on eating like that and you’ll put on weight’.

I’d like to go back to the moment when I saw Luke Skywalker stand on the whispy dunes and look longingly across the desert at the twin sunset on Tatooine and john williams score filled me with a longing to explore the stars rather than be the simple farm boy i was going to end up being if i didn;t do something about it…

Quality!
