Go! Smell The Waiting!

June 18th, 2008 by taylorblue

I am the most impatient person in the world it seems…and this week has been a prime example. I bought a new web site on Friday and I thought it would be up by Monday at the latest. I ended up writing them and they told me that I was even registered to be getting a site with them. I was like…CURSED!! So, yesterday, I decided to try again with someone else and I changed the website name again. Now, my boss worked all day yesterday trying to figure out why it wouldn’t work. CURSED AGAIN! So, to make a longer story shorter I hope to be up today.

I’m super excited to get going again. I’ve been down for a week now. Thank goodness I have the other two blogs I work for, Backseat Cuddler and Knocked Up Celebs! Or else I would have went crazy!

What do you get impatient for?

Congratulations Taylor..
I am looking forward to seeing you back up ….
you and I must share the same curse… I think it was placed on my family line by waywood gypsies a long time ago…

Aussie came back up last night/this morning finally..
Is the Withdrawals as nasty for you as they have been for me, even with the other sites.. when it is your first one or your fav it can get dam right irritating…

As far as your Question I am impatient in general..
mostly waiting for other people I do find this the hardest.. I hate waiting around… it is my nature just to want to get in, get it done now.. unfortunately everyone else likes to take their time and fiddle around.. which drives me nuts…

I have been going crazy!!! I have been playing video games at night because I don’t want to even think about my site! Like I said though I still had to work so I got to get some of my gossiping out…but it isn’t the same as your own site…

aussiecynic Says:

I agree…
if you have any hassles drop us a line and if we can help you out we will….
sometimes I feel a bit silly because of I realise how important it is… and even how much time of routine I am in ….
both online and offline my total day suffers…. just cant function … and keep feeling like I am out of sync…
with any luck you will have your site back up and running and all wil be well….
let me now if there is anything we can do…

Thanks so much…it is crazy how it is your life…and you don’t realize it until it’s been taken away from you!

aussiecynic Says:

oh I know.. nothing feels right all I wanted to do was get my post on… then when we were back on line… I was so relived I couldnt post anything…
I think it is because it becomes a part of you… almost like your conscience or a way to express yourself that we become reliant on… its like loosing an arm or something.. you dont realise how much you need it until it is gone.. you can work around it but really miss what you had…

aussiecynic Says:

but we do mean if we can help just send me a mail…

I hate waiting, but that is the general root of most impatience. I’m pretty patient, but no so much when it comes to myself. I always think that I SHOULD be doing something better and finishing more quickly than is reasonable. It is the damn (oops, I don’t like to cuss…yes, that is cussing to me) SHOULD that gets in the way. Albert Ellis a contemporary famous psychologist says, that we all need to stop, “shoulding on ourselves.” Yeah, gets me into trouble all the time.

I hate waiting for people when they meet you…I am always early..well I used to be until I stopped working outside the home. Now, I’m on lazy time… LOL… But I still hate it when people are late!

I totally agree because then I start to question myself was it today at this time or are they going to show up. I also tend to take it personally like I don’t matter to them.

I totally feel the same way…if you can’t show up on time…don’t…that’s what I feel like saying!

My head, which is often wrong, says “if they really cared or if I mattered they would show up on time.” However, it rarely has to do with us…it usually says something about the other person. Hard to do that though when you are waiting…impatiently.

aussiecynic Says:

rational thinking goes out the window and makes way for all those thoughts doubting yourself… then when they arrive late.. you start to get cranky with them.. for making you wait and also making you feel bad about yourself….
worse still is they tell you, you had the time wrong when you know you didnt….

Yes, that makes complete sense to my brain when that happens.

aussiecynic Says:

your brain sounds as if it works much like mine… thats scary.. I thought I was the only one who thought like this :)

Waiting is the worst thing for me..I hate even to be in line waiting to order my KFC or McD..Sometimes, I am so impatient, I would walk away if too many people in line..I am impatient..

I’ll wait forever for my BigMac…but no where else… :) Usually if I wait long enough I’ll start making up stories about the people in front of me…like how they got there what their life is like…I love imagining things like that..

Oh, I do get grumpy and impatient, when I am really hungry. I’ve heard that a lot of women are like this…maybe it is hormonal…I hope I didn’t get the guys going on this one. BUT, THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND CRAVINGS EITHER!!! Okay, out of my system.

I am not sure if all women are like this but I am for one but then again it makes me think again, sometimes it is hard for me to resist McD..I find myself sometimes waiting for my McD fries and burgers even when the line is long, though McD is the only place I would do that..

Mickey D’s is for sure the only place I would wait in a long line for…it must be something in their food that causes calm as soon as you eat it?

You know what the saying is taylor, good things come to those that wait. Fingers crosssed anyway!

I’m nearly always on time and it infuriates me when others aren’t.

Decide a time and stick to it. Why is it that difficult?

People must be taught it’s okay to be late…my mom always said be early…it’s better than being late!

I become really anxious even if I’m going to be five minutes late. I will call, but that is my own issue and what I expect from myself. However, as I’ve aged and traffic has become less and less predictable. I always try to tell myself. It is better to be there than to drive like a mad woman to make it on time or not at all. I find that calling even if I think I’m going to be late helps to reduce my anxiety. I’ve also, become more patient with others who are late…most of the time…some of the time.

aussiecynic Says:

5-10 minutes early or late I think is reasonable any later than 10 mins a phone call is polite… it isnt hard to be considerate of others and that is what it comes to….
Anyone can be late but call makes all the difference

aussiecynics last blog post..Lucky Phil……….The Man Song!

Yes, that telephone call makes all the difference…it sure did when I was working. People began to worry about me if I was 10 minutes late and hadn’t called.

aussiecynic Says:

and that is the point…
a call takes two seconds.. but saves a whole of worry, expectations etc…
but it is nice that your work mates know you well enough to know you wouldnt normally be late like that…

My dependable reputation has saved my rear many times.

Glad the other two blogs are going well TB and it’s great you’re playing ’slowly, slowly, catchy monkey’ as with any project it can often take 2, 3 or 4 the time frame you originally planned…..

Do keep us posted - they do say patience is a virtue -we get impatient for GO! Smell the flowers becoming a full blown commnunity, being published and wating for the traffic lights/ signal to change :-)
