GO! Smell the returning flowers!
June 8th, 2008 by Jim & EmHi gang from Toronto where we have the bonus of internet access! The first time in 18 days and it’s amazing how slow the old typing GO!s after what seems like an eternity pretty much offline. First off a HUGE thanks to all the founders who have kept the garden growing since we signed off on May 21st - only once did we get a chance to take a peak at GO! Smell the flowers and were so proud of the content that this community is producing.
Having survived the saddle soreness of the Homeplace Ranch in Alberta and heading onto the sights and sounds of Havana, Cuba - Em’s 40th birthday went according to plan in our latest adventure where we met some incredible people from all walks of life. We’ll be downloading some of the highlights of the trip here at flowers when we’ve re-grouped back in Dubai.
Visits to Cuba and Canada where two of the things on our bucket list -things we wanted to do before we die that we’d mentioned before we left. Here’s the trailer for the film that we saw on our flight from Thailand:
Do share with us one thing on your bucket list that you MUST DO before you are pushing up the flowers and WHEN you intend to do it by. It can be travel, family, finance, writing, reading, watching or just plain old whatever you want it to be - Cheers!

Write my life story and journey of healing. Hard to say when because I’m still in the grit of it. It doesn’t matter if it published. Have my painting photographed when I have the money and find someone who is good at it.

Thanx Clinically - its great to be back!
Life begins at 40, right?
Yes, definitely!!!! I’m just a few ahead. The only thing I don’t like is the bodily changes. I’d like my body in my twenties with the brain of today. But, it is definitely more enjoyable.

My life’s dream is to own a horse ranch. We have a “ranch” of 1.3 acres, but we’d like to be able to support a number of horses. Completely useless, but we love horses, and I’d be in hog…er, horse heaven!
Thanks for sharing and YES we’d love to stay at your ranch one day!
Finish learning to play the guitar (actually its hard to class my tuneless strumming as even having begun to learn!).
Its been off the agenda for the last 3 months as I’ve been a tad busy with marrying and moving country. Should pick it up again in a month or so.

Hello GIC/GIT.
If you think the guitar is hard to learn try the traditional Welsh nose flute
No shocks with all thats been going on GIT and congrats again on the wonderful stuff that 2008 has brought to you so far….tried our hand at strumming around the fire at the ranch in Calagary but struggled not to hit duff notes…
On the list of ‘will do oneday’…
The Plucket list, maybe?
One of my dreams in life is to spend some time living in Spain - a minimum of six months. This year I’ve finally started learning to speak Spanish which is a step towards that goal. Its very exciting and I know it will happen at some point!

Good for you - step by step and VIVA Espagne.
I’m really glad you two had a good time and got the most out of your trip. I bet it was a great “birthday getaway” and one you won’t forget.
My bucket list would consist of traveling to Dubai…… and maybe sky diving or something of that sort…. I mean there’s plenty more to mention, but I wouldn’t want to bore you….

Cool Zack and if you make it to Dubai you’ve a place to stay - no worries.
Are you scared now?
Anyway -more on your bucket list please - it won’t bore us - we’d like to know more.
AND you missed the date - when do you plan to make Dubai happen?
No pressure.
I don’t have many plans yet….
More on the bucket list would be cook a holiday meal for the family, go skinny dipping, mountain climb, publish book(s), own a bed and breakfast, run a marathon, go kayaking, and visit places like the western US, Australia, and the Bodhi tree.

I cant say welcome back as such because you guys arent officially back… so happy civilisation interlude…. hehehehehehe…
I have no idea what I have to do and when… I want to travel, and do so many things the question of when is totally up to the universe.. If I say this date or that there would be 98% chance of something that is completely out of our control happening so we can not do it…
So I will do these things eventually.. and mostly before I die I hope or I will have to hang around down here until I do…
Well we just jumped online as soon as we could so we kinda back!
Come on AC - with the travel - step up and list one place by say end of 2010.
Again, no pressure!
well i suppose there’s two - a dream list (because i’ll never get to do it) and a reality list…..
Dream list - to travel in space - see the earth as the astronauts do.
Reality list - retire to the seaside - walk on the beach all year round, live where i can feel the waves crashing up the side of the house…

Hey travellers!! It’s nice to hear from you and happy to hear that your trip has been great!
Happy Birthday Emma
What a way to spend your 40th birthday! If that’s not smelling the flowers, I don’t know what is.
My bucket list includes being more adventurous and I have planned one trip that will be happening in 12 days time. You will read about it shortly.
As for other stuff I would like to do, it includes mainly travel to South East Asia, Europe, Africa, some exotic islands like Fiji, Mauritius, Tahiti to name a few.
There are so many things I would love to do and fitting them all in, especially with kids in tow, will be the challenge.
