GO! Tell the Difference between Knowledge and Wisdom

May 28th, 2008 by mike

Mike here,

tomatoes-2.jpg

What’s the difference between Knowledge and Wisdom?

Here’s an answer I heard the other day ….

Knowledge tells you that a tomato is a fruit.

Wisdom tells you not to put tomatoes in your fruit salad.

Must be others! Set your thinking caps on and pitch in your contribution in the comments!

I don’t like that…

Knowledge tells you how to post a comment at Flowers
Wisdom tells you something meaningful to write.

I love that photo Mike.

I can’t think of anything remotely profound so I am going to say that wisdom comes from experience whilst intelligence is innate.

Knowledge is acquired. Wisdom is a gift; Knowledge is learned. Wisdom is inherited.

Knowledge is knowing that the earth is round.

Wisdom is knowing how to make the earth last for the next generation.

I have a weird brain today…I just picked on mike and here is the honest first thing that popped in my head

Knowledge tells you how to tie your shoes
Wisdoms tells you how to do them so they don’t come undone.

Okay, sorry for picking on you!!

That’s okay. It’s great someone is sticking up for me, even when it’s me having a go at myself! :-)

Knowledge is knowing how to have kids
Wisdom is knowing how to raise them properly (without messing them up too much at least)

Knowledge is raw data, wisdom is the interpretation and application of the data.

For instance a great piece of wisdom passed on to me on the day of my wedding regarding communicating with your wife;
When you are wrong admmit it, when you are right shut up.

KNOWLEDGE is what you have learned.

WISDOM is that knowledge in action.

knowledge tells you that if someone throws an apple at you on the beach, it will hit you and hurt. Wisdom tells you to either move out of the way or eat the apple before you get on the beach.

actually looked closer and its a tomato rather than an apple but the saying still stands - just substitute apple for tomato.

“or eat the apple before you get on the beach.”

Eh?

So before you go to the beach, you stake out the carpark, then nic any apples that people turn up with and eat them?

Is that a Baldrick plan?

Now that is probably the truest statement here. It is very true. Imagine how much sorrow and grief God must have. Thank you for sharing this one.

OK, before you bunch of back slapping contributors / Founders Club Members start moaning, the biggest difference is how the two words are spelt.
