Go! Stop Fermenting!

May 9th, 2008 by A/C

Yesterday a new Study surfaced in OZ.

This time it is Alcohol.

under18_beer.jpg

For years we have been told a glass of Red Wine is good for you, well not anymore.
The Time has come to put away all your toys, pack away your Yard Glass, stow you nip glass and remove your cocktail shaker…. dry your eyes its for your own good.
Men consuming more than 2 drinks of Alcohol a Day and Women more than one alcoholic beverage are increasing there chances of cancer.
Yep! another of life small pleassures removed from our lives. Full report on Aussie.

My Question after investing this further yesterday and today is:

Is it the Beverage causing the issues or could it be the high levels of Arsenic, Lead, Floride and other known harmful chemicals present in your drink that is the problem…
After all these beverages have been around for hundreds of years, the only thing that has changed is the way it is made!
your thoughts Please

One thing for sure I am not allowed to drink alcohol but there was one time while Christmas, my cousin actually asked me to try some of his red wine and the thing is I am not so much into wine and other alcoholic drinks although I used to like Anglia Shandy..but now, I am more into fruit juices and tea and plain water..talking about toxics, in this world, especially nowadays when pollutions levels are rising high in the city it is very difficult to get away from absorbing all the poison into our body even as we breathe through the air..

Nur Sarah Lam’s last blog post..Dear Readers..

Hey Aussie… I love beer, especially on a hot day and the beer is chilled! That’s really the only time I will drink it and even then, one or two of the light stuff is my limit. I think that Nur Sarah Lam has a point with the toxins being all around us. I am about to post (here at flowers) on an interesting concept of consumerism and how we are the main contributors to the air pollution due to the media driving us to go buy “stuff!” No matter what we eat or drink or breath, the toxins are all around us.

Buzzing with Ange’s last blog post..I Love You

Hey AC - although tempted to hop on a moped and enjoy a cold one surely the odd beer / wine is all good but in moderation - i.e not every waking hour :-)

Chang beer here in Thailand is preserved with Formaldehyde we’re told.

Dammit.

Hello Aussie
Beer has been the love of my life after Mrs Bo Snr. Bo and Lib
I have been a home beer and wine maker for many years and also a pub licensee for four years.
I think I have taught the UK founders an appreciation of good beer.
The pills I am taking for MS relief make beer taste like S***te.
The only thing I have found that is not affected is Guiness. I have never liked lager even the aussie stuff.
A few l glasses of Guiness and a bottle of nice red wine from anywhere in the world I am happy.
So please drink some beer and tell me about it

Cheers

Hi J&M
Hoegaarden is not naturally fermented as is Duval.
The Trappiste beers are still made by monks in Holland and Belgium
The best Trappiste Beer is in my opinion Chimay Grand Reserve of which I have a bottle for Bo’s wedding
