Oh! Go Fly a Kite!
November 6th, 2007 by aussiecynicI do like some extreme sports White Water Jet boating, Cradle Mountain Hiking, Snow Boarding and the Luge at the winter games. But there are a few which I wont try, like the one in the clip Watch this clip Kite Surfing and I think you will get the idea…
So peoples have advertising companies gone mad, and whats the most extreme thing you have done?

I’m an IKB certified kite boarder but I’ve never tangled with a plane when I’m kite surfing. I do all my boarding at Boracay in the Philippines, last time I went was October. Great island, great people, I highly recommend it.
Dont you need plenty of wind for what sport? Seriously, isn’t is dependant on the conditions?
Just go after a chicken phall, two garlic naan, some bombay aloo and 8 cobra. the winde will be there. trust me.
Jeolousy Closing In Gareth…..
Recommendation taken….
Never been to there but have seen photos looks great..
AC
IKB - Internatonal kite Board??
Sorry, correction its IKO, just checked my card.
You do need wind, but too much and you can’t safely go out. Generally if you have a couple of different sized kites you can choose the size of kite to suit the wind.
And IKO would mean what GIC, keep me posted here, its a hobby I may well take up!
International kiteboarding organisation.
In order to be safe and fully trained always do an accredited course. The kites used have incredible power once you get them launched and fully into the wind window, most IKO places won’t rent you the gear wihtout your IKO card - similar to PADI.
Totally concur about philippinos being great people.
Women in Dubai can be very bitchy, competitive and envious of each other. Even if they are your ‘friends’. My experience is that Philippino girls are different. In friendship, they don’t stab you in the back, your secrets are safe with them, they genuinely care about you. The same cannot be said of everyone else unfortunately.
I’m sure Philippines is a great island.. but this Bridget has seen way better ha!
Ermmm The Philippines is made up of over 7000 islands, to say you’ve seen better may be true but is most likely a trite projection.
This Bridget must have slept through geography or needs to stop buying cheap maps ha.
LOL
No comments… ha!
My wife tried on a necklace in a shop in Dubai where the assistant was a Philipino woman. She took her own necklace off and put it on the counter. After leaving the shop she realised that she’d left said necklace on the counter. The assistant said that she had not seen/taken my wife’s necklace, but after threatening to call the police it miraculously appeared from under the counter. My experience is that Philipino women are just as bitchy and money obsessed as many other women. And in this case dishonest.
GIc hats off to you n your hobbies.
Are you the human version of sport Billy? - heres some old school just for you..

Just waiting for next month and the piste will open 2 hours away and I can get my snowboard and skis out.
I’d love to try a kite with a snowboard it should be good fun, trouble is I haven’t got a kite here in Changchun. Maybe I can get one over Christmas in the UK. It should draw a big crowd, anything unusual or not been seen before in this part of China attracts instantly at least 200-300 onlookers within the first 10 seconds.
What a great place to hang out when you want to have fun! I think the most extreme thing I have done is tubing on the rapids when I could not, and still can not, swim
Rosie you should come back regularly we are always here …..lol..
Always Updating…
Great clip, thanks!
And the most extreme thing I’ve done?
JCB racing.

Cool!
I would like to do these things someday.Right now I am busy programming.
This Bridget likes everthing extreme and thrilling and dangerous. That’s why she is still sitting on the shelf ha!
This may appear a stupid question but can there be enough wind in kite surfing to send you off up into the air and keep on floating?
Theoretically I guess it could happen but if you feel yourself going to high or too fast you can control the kite into a lower lift area or in an extreme case cause it to collapse using an emergency pull strap.
